Softball Game Preview: Woodruff Wolverines vs. Broome Centurions

After both having extra time off, the Woodruff Wolverines and the Broome Centurions will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodruff is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Woodruff gave up the first runs last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Chapman by a score of 8-5.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Broome, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 12-8 win over Chapman last Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Centurions as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Woodruff's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Broome, their win bumped their record up to 4-13.

Woodruff took their victory against Broome in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
