Basketball Recap: Franklin Academy Comes Up Short

Franklin Academy lost against Falls Lake back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Franklin Academy Patriots took a hard 39-23 fall against the Falls Lake Firebirds.

Franklin Academy used a three-pronged attack on offense: Iliana Rodriguez, Audrey Probasco, and Addie Ward posted six points each.

Falls Lake found their leader in sophomore Destiny Williams, who almost dropped a triple-double on 17 points, nine boards, and ten steals. Williams is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeneen Mason, who posted seven points in addition to eight rebounds and seven steals.

Franklin Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Falls Lake, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6.

Franklin Academy has already played their next matchup (against NCSSM: Durham), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Falls Lake has already played their next game, a 61-21 win against Research Triangle on the 30th.
