After a string of four wins, Friends' Central's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 60-44 bruising from the Sanford Warriors.
Gabe Moore and Pat Feamster certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Moore went 5 for 8 on his way to 15 points, while Feamster went 5 of 10 en route to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Boyer, who posted five points.
Sanford's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nico McNeill, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 15 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Another player making a difference was Jayden Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Friends' Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Sanford, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Friends' Central will welcome Malvern Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sanford, they will venture away from home to square off against Delcastle Technical at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
