Basketball Recap: Luke Lindman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bloomington North over New Albany

Bloomington North was the 72-64 winner over New Albany when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bloomington North Cougars lost to the New Albany Bulldogs on the road by a 86-68 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 12th).

Bloomington North lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Luke Lindman, who shot 53% from the field on his way to 24 points and seven rebounds. The contest was his third in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Fishel, who went 6-for-8 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and six assists.

Bloomington North's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-16. As for New Albany, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-4.

Bloomington North wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-49 loss against Bloomington South on the 4th. As for New Albany, they will take on Floyd Central at 7:30 p.m. on March 7th. New Albany has given up an average of 60.5 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.
