Baseball Recap: Southwest Legacy Has No Trouble Against SA Roosevelt

Southwest Legacy won the last time they faced SA Roosevelt and things went their way on Saturday too. The Southwest Legacy Titans blew past the SA Roosevelt Rough Riders 10-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Titans.

Jaden Pena made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Ian Macias and Stevan Rocha did most of the damage at the plate: Macias scored three runs and stole six bases while going 1-for-2, while Rocha scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Rocha a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Ethan Macias, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Southwest Legacy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as SA Roosevelt only posted an OBP of .333.

Southwest Legacy's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for SA Roosevelt, they dropped their record down to 2-5-1 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwest Legacy will host MacArthur at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. MacArthur's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Southwest Legacy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for SA Roosevelt, they will look to defend their home field on March 11th against Reagan at 12:00 p.m.
