Football Game Preview: New Paltz Huguenots vs. Highland Huskies + How To Watch

The New Paltz Huguenots will challenge the Highland Huskies at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Highland took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on New Paltz, who comes in off a win.

New Paltz is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 49-19 victory over Liberty. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Huguenots considering their seven-point performance the contest before.

Nicolas Burda and Nico Bloom were among the main playmakers for New Paltz as the former rushed for 93 yards and five scores on only nine carries and the latter rushed for 188 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries. Nick Drewnowski was another key player, throwing for 82 yards and one TD while completing 75% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: New Paltz was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 324 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Meanwhile, Highland played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Chester-Seward 39-12. The Huskies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-6.

Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for New Paltz, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-4.

New Paltz didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Highland in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 34-29 victory.
