Basketball Recap: Westwood Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Westwood challenged Grace Christian Academy on Friday. The Westwood Wildcats fell 34-26 to the Grace Christian Academy Cougars. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 26-20.

Grace Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chloe Brogdon, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Brogdon has scored at least a third of Grace Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Ava Martin, who posted four points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Westwood and nudges their season record down to 2-13. As for Grace Christian Academy, they moved to 7-14 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westwood will venture away from home to take on Crisp Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grace Christian Academy, they will head out to challenge Highland Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grace Christian Academy is facing Highland Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Highland Christian Academy is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
