Baseball Preview: Mount Union Trojans vs. Penns Valley Area Rams

The Mount Union Trojans will venture away from home to take on the Penns Valley Area Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Mount Union will be strutting in after a victory while Penns Valley Area will be coming in after a defeat.

Mount Union made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bald Eagle Area, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Mount Union blew past Bald Eagle Area 10-3 on Friday. Considering the Trojans have won three matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Davin Yocum was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI. In other batting news, Levi Hunsinger and Georgie Bilger did most of the damage at the plate: Hunsinger went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs, while Bilger went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.
