Basketball Recap: Winneconne Comes Up Short

Winneconne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 76-70 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mayville Cardinals. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (61), the Wolves still had to take the loss.

Winneconne's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Mayville, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winneconne will take on Ripon in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Winneconne is facing Ripon at the right time seeing as Ripon is stuck on a six-game losing streak. Mayville and St. Mary's Springs will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Mary's Springs will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Mayville surely won't give up without a fight.
