Basketball Recap: Largo Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Kennedi Robertson and Denaria Fuller

Largo extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-4. They lost to the Northeast Vikings on the road by a 65-50 margin. The Packers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Largo's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Denaria Fuller, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Kennedi Robertson, who went 7-for-15 en route to 21 points and five boards. With that strong performance, Fuller is now averaging an impressive 3.5 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Rhiley Roberson, who posted six points and three steals.

As for Northeast, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 57 points in those games.

Jy'Aira Washington produced another solid performance shooting 55% from the field to rack up 28 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. The contest was her fifth in a row with at least 17 points. Mackenzie Tucker was another key player, going 6-for-11 on her way to 13 points and three steals.

Coming up, Largo will venture away from home to challenge Seminole at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. The Packers' defense better be ready for this one: the Warhawks have averaged an impressive 62.1 points per game this season. As for Northeast, they and Southeast will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played.
