Basketball Game Preview: Westminster Christian Academy Wildcats vs. Plainview Bears

Westminster Christian Academy hasn't had much luck against Plainview recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Westminster Christian Academy Wildcats will face off against the Plainview Bears at 6:00 p.m.

Westminster Christian Academy heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 57-17 loss at the hands of Madison Academy. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Mustangs are ranked 13th).

Meanwhile, Plainview had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 63-27 win over the Chiefs. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Bears had established a 28 point advantage.

Plainview has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 27-6 record this season. As for Westminster Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-16.

Westminster Christian Academy was dealt a bruising 71-21 loss at the hands of Plainview in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. Can Westminster Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
