Klein hadn't done well against Cypress Woods recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Klein Bearkats walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Cypress Woods Wildcats. This was payback for the Bearkats, who suffered an 8-7 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Madilyn Schultz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Schultz was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. She also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Megan Meinhardt, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Paityn Lee, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Klein hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cypress Woods struck out ten times.

Klein's record is now 6-4. As for Cypress Woods, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6-1.

Looking ahead, Klein will take on Jersey Village at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Cypress Woods, they will square off against Klein Cain at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
