Football Recap: Glass Has No Trouble Against Rustburg

Glass lost to Rustburg back in November of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Hilltoppers blew past the Red Devils 32-7. Given the Hilltoppers' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Red Devils are ranked 233rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jhalil Holloway went supernova, rushing for 83 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, while also throwing for 144 yards and one TD. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in August.

Glass' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5. As for Rustburg, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glass will square off against Brookville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rustburg, they will challenge Amherst County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lancers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
