Softball Recap: Forest Hills Central Takes a Loss

Forest Hills Central had lost six straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 7-12 to make it seven. They lost 19-3 to the Catholic Central Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, with their most recent loss being a 17-0 defeat on Wednesday.

Forest Hills Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Micah McClarty, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

As for Catholic Central, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 23-0-1. Considering they have won 19 matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Catholic Central's side, A Bockheim spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Catholic Central got a massive performance out of A Owen, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four runs gave Owen a new career-high. G Cook was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, five runs, and two doubles.

Looking ahead, Forest Hills Central will welcome Godwin Heights at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Rangers are facing the Wolverines at the right time seeing as the Wolverines are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Catholic Central, they will square off against West Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
