Basketball Recap: Bandys Skates Past Bunker Hill with Ease

Bandys had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They claimed a resounding 69-24 win over the Bunker Hill Bears. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Bandys was led to victory by Lexi Vaughan and Addison Bell. Vaughan dropped a double-double with 16 points and 17 boards, while Bell posted 21 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. The matchup was Bell's fifth in a row with at least 16 points. Haley Cross was another key player, putting up seven points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Bandys was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bunker Hill only posted three assists.

When it comes to explaining why Bunker Hill lost, don't look at Rachel Beck. Despite the final result, she had 15 points and eight boards. Beck continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Karly Shupe also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

Bandys' record is now 15-7. As for Bunker Hill, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-18.

Bandys didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-50 victory against Lincolnton on the 17th. As for Bunker Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-37 defeat against Newton-Conover on the 17th.
