Volleyball Recap: Five Straight Road Victories for Rocky Mount Academy

While Rocky Mount Academy's win against Liberty Christian Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Heat on Tuesday.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Rocky Mount Academy got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-21, 21-25, 25-22, 10-25, 15-11.

McKenna Rogers paced Rocky Mount Academy's offense, picking up 12 kills. Rogers got some help from Landry Miller and her 25 assists. Berkeley Miller controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Several Heat players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jadea James, who had 17 kills, nine digs, and three aces. James has been hot, having posted 13 or more kills the last six times she's played. Sam Hearn was another key player, getting 30 assists and eight digs.

Rocky Mount Academy's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. As for Liberty Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.

Rocky Mount Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Greenfield on the 25th. As for Liberty Christian Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Harrells Christian Academy on the 25th.
