The home team had come away the winner the last four times Smithtown West and West Islip had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Smithtown West was the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over West Islip on Wednesday. Smithtown West has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw West Islip, too.

Smithtown West was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-15, 25-20.

Among those leading the charge was Charlotte Driscoll, who had four aces and three digs. That's the most digs she has posted since back in October of 2024. Camden Phillips also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Smithtown West's win bumped their record up to 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Smithtown West is set to challenge their familiar foe Eastport-South Manor at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, West Islip will square off against rival Hauppauge at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
