Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Summit Country Day). They put the hurt on the Deer Park Wildcats with a sharp 18-1 victory on Wednesday. The Silver Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.
Dillon Minton was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Lucas Reder was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
Summit Country Day was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Deer Park only posted a batting average of .125.
Summit Country Day pushed their record up to 15-10 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Deer Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16.
