Recap: Notus Pirates vs. Vision

The Notus Pirates can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Wednesday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 55-24 win over Vision. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Notus has posted since November 27, 2023.

Notus had a senior duo take command as Allison Grandeen scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals and Paige Emly scored 13 points along with six assists and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Grandeen has scored at least a third of Notus' points. Nayeli Vargas was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Several Vision players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Angel Gutierrez, who scored ten points along with three steals. Gutierrez is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Raelynn Nickel, who scored four points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Notus pushed their record up to 8-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Vision, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4.

Notus will head out on the road to square off against Centennial Baptist at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vision won't have much time to rest: their next match is against North Star at 6:00 p.m. on January 11th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (North Star is ranked 150th, while Vision is ranked 126th).
