Baseball Recap: Geneva Gets the Win

While Geneva's win against Lake Park wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings had just enough and edged out the Lancers 2-1. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 11-1 win on Tuesday.

Caden Sorensen looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Geneva saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tate Beran, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Geneva and bumps their season record up to 14-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Lake Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.
