Basketball Recap: Cathedral Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Dorchester Academy on Monday, Cathedral Academy came back down to earth. The Cathedral Academy Generals lost 72-49 to the Pinewood Prep Panthers on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Generals have suffered against the Panthers since January 2, 2019.

Jayden Alexander was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 12 from beyond the arc to rack up 21 points for Pinewood Prep. Jonathan Slawson was another key player, putting up 11 points along with eight assists and six rebounds.

Cathedral Academy's loss dropped their record down to 23-11. As for Pinewood Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Cathedral Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 78-48 victory against Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics on the 6th. As for Pinewood Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 69-59 defeat against Porter-Gaud on the 7th.
