Central Columbia has gone a perfect 4-0 against Midd-West recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bluejays will look to defend their home field against the Mustangs at 3:00 p.m.

Central Columbia is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Hughesville just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost 12-4 to the Spartans.

Meanwhile, Midd-West entered their tilt with Newport on Monday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Buffaloes an 8-0 shutout. The Mustangs' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three games.

Midd-West saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayda Dunn, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs. Another was Katie Zimmerman, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Midd-West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .364 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Midd-West pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Central Columbia, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-4.

Everything went Central Columbia's way against Midd-West in their previous matchup back in April, as Central Columbia made off with an 11-4 win. Will the Bluejays repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
