Baseball Preview: Upper Perkiomen Indians vs. Spring-Ford Rams
Upper Perkiomen is 0-10 against Spring-Ford since March of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Indians will square off against the Rams at 6:00 p.m.
Upper Perkiomen came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Perkiomen Valley, falling 12-6.
Upper Perkiomen saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Pierce, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Jack Rieg was another, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Spring-Ford waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Vikings.
Spring-Ford also got a great performance from Luke Pufko as he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. Pufko has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Liam Quinn was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Luke Sedor, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Upper Perkiomen's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Spring-Ford, their record now sits at 7-5.
