Pahokee is 0-7 against Glades Day since April of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Blue Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gators at 6:00 p.m. Pahokee will be strutting in after a win while Glades Day will be coming in after a loss.
On Tuesday, Pahokee beat Inlet Grove 9-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Isaac Sarmiento made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, Pahokee let Tiyler Rothstein and Markevious Perry run wild. Rothstein got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs, while Perry went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Rothstein has become a key player for Pahokee: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Timothy Tidmore, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Pahokee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Inlet Grove only posted an OBP of .424.
Meanwhile, Glades Day lost 22-4 to Clewiston on Wednesday. The Gators haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Glades Day saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zeth Villareal, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run. Villareal has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
Glades Day now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Pahokee, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Pahokee has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 12.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Glades Day struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
