Baseball Recap: Canisius Find Success

Canisius's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Bishop Timon-St. Jude Tigers by a score of 3-0. The Crusaders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Jack Steiner tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Gavin Eynon was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. David Barczak was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

The win got Canisius back to even at 7-7. As for Bishop Timon-St. Jude, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Canisius will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
