Softball Recap: Kalida Victorious

Kalida barely beat Holgate the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 17-4 win on Monday. With that victory, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 7.4 runs per game.

Addie Brokamp made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Brokamp was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2025.

In other batting news, Morgan Bockrath was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs. Hunter Hohlbein was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

Kalida always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Kalida's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kalida will welcome Leipsic at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Holgate, they will challenge Liberty Center at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
