Basketball Game Preview: Fond du Lac Cardinals vs. Pewaukee Pirates

The Fond du Lac Cardinals will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Pewaukee Pirates on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Fond du Lac is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 85-54 win over Appleton West. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Terrors are ranked 370th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Pewaukee lost to Homestead on the road by a 74-59 margin on Saturday. The match marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

The victory (which was Fond du Lac's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.5 points per game. As for Pewaukee, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-2.
