Basketball Game Preview: Sumner Tigers vs. Calais Blue Devils

Sumner hasn't had much luck against Calais recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Sumner Tigers will welcome the Calais Blue Devils at 2:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Sumner turned things around against George Stevens Academy on Tuesday. They managed a 29-23 victory over the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Calais posted their closest win since December 27, 2023 on Tuesday. They skirted past Machias 42-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Calais' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Sumner, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
