Basketball Recap: Poteet Takes a Loss

Poteet was the 31-26 winner over Lytle when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Poteet Aggies lost 41-20 to the Lytle Pirates on Friday.

Lytle's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lunna Reyes led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 19 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Reyes has scored at least a third of Lytle's points. Arianna Garcia was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Poteet has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-9 record this season. As for Lytle, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-16.

Poteet has already played their next match (against Hondo), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lytle didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 37-30 win against Cotulla on the 20th.
