Softball Recap: George Ranch Takes a Loss

George Ranch dropped their record down to 11-15-3 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They came up short against the Lamar Consolidated Mustangs, falling 11-0. The Longhorns were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matches prior), but the Mustangs' pitchers proved too tough.

As for Lamar Consolidated, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-3. Considering they have won 16 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Lamar Consolidated's part, Terra Williams was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Williams has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Aubree Jones, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

George Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lamar Consolidated, they will take on Galena Park at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 2.9, the Yellowjackets 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
