Volleyball Recap: Archbishop Mccarthy Falls Short Against Ranked King's Academy

On Saturday, Archbishop McCarthy faced King's Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the King's Academy Lions.

Nick Castillo paced Archbishop McCarthy's offense, picking up seven kills. Castillo got some help from Stephen Blakely and his eight assists. Drew Dieppa controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Archbishop McCarthy's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for King's Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Archbishop McCarthy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Cardinal Gibbons on the 11th. As for King's Academy, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Boca Raton on the 11th.
