Volleyball Recap: Irvington Preparatory Academy Falls Despite Big Games from John Curry and Jason Norton

Irvington Preparatory Academy and Heritage Christian squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Irvington Preparatory Academy had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Heritage Christian this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in March.

Irvington Preparatory Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Jason Norton and John Curry. Norton had six digs and four aces, while Curry had 24 digs. Norton has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 11 times he's played.

Heritage Christian was led to victory by Zach Gelbach and Ben Bauer. Gelbach had ten digs, while Bauer had 13 digs, nine kills, and one block. Those 13 digs gave Bauer a new career-high.

Irvington Preparatory Academy is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-15. As for Heritage Christian, their win bumped their record up to 9-14.

Irvington Preparatory Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Heritage Christian, they are on the road again on Saturday to play Indianapolis Scecina Memorial at 11:00 a.m. The Eagles are facing the Crusaders at the right time seeing as the Crusaders are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
