Softball Recap: Gridley Has No Trouble Against Corning

Gridley won the last time they faced Corning and things went their way on Friday too. The Bulldogs blew past the Cardinals 15-2. Considering the Bulldogs have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Delanie Cloyd, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Payton Burresch, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Gridley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive contests.

Gridley's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Corning, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Gridley beat the Cardinals by a score of 12-0 on Tuesday.
