Volleyball Recap: Sawyer Wineman and Emily Tyler Secure Win for Norwalk

Norwalk had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They blew past the Wellington Dukes 3-0. The Truckers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Dukes, too.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Norwalk was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-8, 25-9.

Norwalk was led to victory by Emily Tyler and Sawyer Wineman. Tyler had nine digs, five aces, and one block, while Wineman had eight digs and two aces. What's more, Wineman posted five assists, the most she's had over her last six matches.

They weren't the only good server: Norwalk was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive games.

Norwalk's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Wellington, they moved to 8-4 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Norwalk wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Bellevue on the 23rd. As for Wellington, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Columbia on the 23rd.
