Basketball Recap: Riverside Picks Up 20th Straight Win at Home

Riverside had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took down the Stone Bridge Bulldogs 85-67 on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Ram in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won eight in a row.

Leading Riverside to victory were Mason Ridgeway and Max Lawson. Ridgeway dropped a double-double with 25 points and 13 rebounds, while Lawson shot 67% from the field to rack up 21 points along with six assists and four steals. Those 13 boards gave Ridgeway a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Peterson, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.

Stone Bridge's loss came despite strong showings from Kevin Reyes and Kaden Golston. Reyes went 8-for-20 on his way to 22 points in addition to seven assists and three steals, while Golston dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards. The matchup was Reyes' fourth in a row with at least 20 points. Kedric Golston was another key player, putting up eight points and 12 rebounds.

Riverside pushed their record up to 25-1 with the win, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Stone Bridge, their loss dropped their record down to 11-12.

Coming up, Riverside will face off against Riverbend at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Riverside knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 games -- so hopefully Riverbend likes a good challenge. Stone Bridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
