Volleyball Recap: Sweeny Bulldogs vs. La Marque Cougars

Sweeny waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the La Marque Cougars as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in August.
Sweeny walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-14, 25-18, 25-17.
Belle Seibert paced Sweeny's offense, picking up 14 kills. Seibert got some help from Stevie Brown and her 33 assists. Hannah Forshee controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.
Sweeny's victory bumped their record up to 24-6. As for La Marque, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-16.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Sweeny is set to challenge their familiar foe El Campo at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, La Marque will square off against rival Needville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
