Football Recap: West Harrison's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

West Harrison had won four straight games dating back to last season and Jordan Stapleton did his part to make it five on Friday. The Hurricanes breezed past the Laurel Golden Tornadoes to the tune of 53-20 with plenty of help from Stapleton, who rushed for 196 yards and three scores while picking up 12.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 60 receiving yards and one TD. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 13th straight game with at least 129 rushing yards dating back to last season.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to West Harrison's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Jazear Carter, Kenthony Townsend, and Othell Adkins Jr, who each picked up one sack apiece. Carter was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).

West Harrison's record now sits at 4-0. As for Laurel, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

West Harrison wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 26-21 win against St. Martin on the 26th. As for Laurel, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-3 loss against Oak Grove on the 26th.
