There's no place like home for Sterling, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Moline Maroons 5-4 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Golden Warriors have posted since March 21st.

Sterling got a great performance from Eli Penne as he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Penne has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Adrian Monarrez was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. Cale Nettleton was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Sterling's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Moline, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Coming up, Sterling will challenge Hall at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Moline, they will take on Normal University at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
