Basketball Game Preview: East Forsyth Eagles vs. Southwest Guilford Cowboys

East Forsyth is 0-10 against Southwest Guilford since January of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The East Forsyth Eagles just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Southwest Guilford Cowboys at 7:30 p.m.

East Forsyth is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against West Forsyth on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. East Forsyth came up short against West Forsyth, falling 68-44. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, Southwest Guilford earned a 62-53 win over Ragsdale on Friday. Given the Cowboys' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Tigers are ranked 560th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southwest Guilford pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for East Forsyth, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.

East Forsyth came up short against Southwest Guilford in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 83-79. Can East Forsyth avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
