The Maple Heights Mustangs will head out to take on the Garfield Heights Bulldogs at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Maple Heights is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.

Maple Heights is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Bedford on Wednesday. They came up short against the Bearcats, falling 11-1. The Mustangs' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Garfield Heights came up short against Richmond Heights on Wednesday and fell 15-10.

Ian Case was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was TERRANCE JACKSON, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Garfield Heights' loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Maple Heights, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-3-1.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Maple Heights has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Garfield Heights struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Maple Heights took their win against Garfield Heights in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
