Lakeside School came tearing into Saturday's contest with 14 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 12-11 W against the North Springs Spartans. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Chiefs, who until this match were averaging 1.54 runs allowed.

Luke McGowan made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off five hits. McGowan was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, Tyler Mark Bullock was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Trent Hayes was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Lakeside School's record now sits at 44-4. As for North Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-17.

Lakeside School didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-2 win against Hope Christian Academy on the 12th. As for North Springs, they will square off against Tucker at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
