Gehrig Footit turned in yet another pitching appearance with fewer than two walks surrendered on Wednesday. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has become a key player for Notre Dame: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-4 otherwise.
