Basketball Recap: Brady Mauer Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Morristown

North Decatur won the last time they faced Morristown and things went their way on Friday too. The North Decatur Chargers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-43 victory over the Morristown Yellow Jackets.

North Decatur's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brady Mauer, who posted 11 points and eight boards. Mauer is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Owen Eldridge, who made all 5 shots he took racking up 10 points.

Morristown lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Colin Kieninger, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 15 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kellen Crim, who earned 11 points.

North Decatur's record is now 6-10. As for Morristown, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7.

North Decatur will host Batesville at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Batesville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.9 points per game this season. Morristown has already played their next contest, a 55-47 loss against Anderson Prep Academy on the 25th.
