Volleyball Game Preview: Monte Vista Monarchs vs. Steele Canyon Cougars

Monte Vista is 0-7 against Steele Canyon since March of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. Monte Vista will venture away from home to square off against Steele Canyon at 6:30 p.m. Monte Vista will be strutting in after a win while Steele Canyon will be coming in after a loss.

Last Tuesday, Monte Vista beat Valhalla 3-1.

While Monte Vista might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Valhalla scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-19, 23-25, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Steele Canyon came up short against West Hills on Tuesday and fell 3-1.

Steele Canyon was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made West Hills work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 26-24, 23-25, 25-22.

Steele Canyon's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-6. As for Monte Vista, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
