Western Boone put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Southmont Mounties 36-6 at home. The Stars' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Marcus Fortner had a dynamite game for Western Boone, picking up 85 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Brandon Potter was another key player, throwing for 85 yards and three touchdowns.
Western Boone didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dylan Sheets and Levi Adkins. Adkins is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made seven or more in the last three games he's played.
Western Boone pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Southmont, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-4.
Western Boone wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 28-9 loss against Danville on the 11th. Southmont has also already played their next game, a 35-0 defeat against Lebanon on the 11th.
