Football Game Preview: Overton Mustangs vs. Mt. Enterprise Wildcats + How To Watch

The Overton Mustangs will take on the Mt. Enterprise Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Overton sitting on three straight wins and Mt. Enterprise on 12.

Overton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Goldthwaite to the tune of 47-13. Considering the Mustangs have won eight matchups by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Rylan Holleman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 164 yards and three scores while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, and also throwing for 193 yards and three TDs. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 65 yards. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Miller, who rushed for 118 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries.

Meanwhile, Mt. Enterprise's offense rose to the challenge against a Pirates defense that boasted an average of only 14.5 points allowed on Friday. The Wildcats blew past Chilton, posting a 58-30 victory. The Wildcats are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the eighth contest they've won by 20+ points this season.

Overton better focus on containing Kaegan Ash and Aadin Alsup as the pair were huge in Mt. Enterprise's win. Ash rushed for 165 yards and four TDs on only nine carries, while Alsup rushed for 91 yards and a pair of scores. Ash is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last 21 games he's played dating back to last season. Joel Otwell was in the mix too, providing Mt. Enterprise with one touchdown.

Mt. Enterprise was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 319 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 201 rushing yards in 19 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Overton's record now sits at 8-4. As for Mt. Enterprise, their record is now 12-0.

Things could have been worse for Overton, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-42 loss to Mt. Enterprise in their previous meeting back in October. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Ash, who rushed for 599 yards and seven TDs while picking up 22.2 yards per carry, and also picked up 63 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Now that the Mustangs know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
