Swampscott was not the first on the board on Wednesday, but they got there more often. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Winthrop Vikings. For Swampscott, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 victory Winthrop walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Swampscott now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Winthrop, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Swampscott will venture away from home to square off against Gloucester at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Winthrop, they will welcome Bishop Fenwick at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Fenwick will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Winthrop surely won't give up without a fight.
