Volleyball Recap: Shakamak Lakers vs. Linton-Stockton Miners
Shakamak lost against Linton-Stockton back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lakers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Miners. The Lakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 22-25, 25-16, 25-21.
Ayanna Clark paced Shakamak's offense, picking up 13 kills. Clark got some help from Ava McCrary and her 16 assists. Sydney Byrne and Brylee Faulk kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.
Leading Linton-Stockton to victory were Taylor Warrick and Ella Norris. Warrick had 17 digs and two aces, while Norris had 11 digs and five aces. Warrick is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.
Shakamak's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 17-7. As for Linton-Stockton, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-7.
