Basketball Game Preview: Centaurus Warriors vs. Steamboat Springs Sailors

Centaurus has gone 5-0 against Steamboat Springs recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Centaurus Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the Steamboat Springs Sailors at 6:00 p.m. Steamboat Springs took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Centaurus, who comes in off a win.

Centaurus saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 52-43 victory over Roosevelt.

Centaurus' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sam Esposito, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 18 points. The game was Esposito's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Jones, who posted eight points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Steamboat Springs scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Rampart by a score of 59-57. The Sailors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Centaurus' win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Steamboat Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Centaurus didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Steamboat Springs in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 60-55 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Centaurus since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
