Softball Recap: Camas Comes Up Short

Camas fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Battle Ground on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 7-6. The Papermakers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Jameson McNeley was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Sophia Chambers, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Camas' loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-8. As for Battle Ground, they moved to 3-8-1 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

While Camas had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
